A Guide to Curating Your Web Summit 2023

Web Summit is a product that each one of us can co-author and co-create to become whatever we want it to be. There are plenty of talk Lego bricks and side experiences to give near-infinite combinations.

Just like my social media feed can look very different from the person next to me, my Web Summit experience can also be very different from the person entering the venue at the same time.

We have more control over what we choose to attend than we have over what I am exposed to, in our feeds. So let’s make use of that power.

This is my seventh Web Summit. I want to make it my own as much as possible.

Some days ago, I made a very first pass at taming the schedule, based on instinct, to get an idea of the topics covered by the talks this year.

Today 2 days from the event opening, I am giving it a more considered pass, having as the objective to make it purposeful.

Where do you start when there are dozens, possibly hundreds of talks to pick from? How do you narrow down your options to a manageable size?

The answer is to look for themes that group talks together. Then you can choose the themes you are most interested in rather than individual topics.
